The Black Raven
Year: 1943
Plot: On a dark and stormy night near the U.S./Canada border, a group of desperate strangers are forced to take refuge at a remote inn known as "The Black Raven." The inn is owned by a seemingly reformed criminal named Amos Bradford, a.k.a. "The Raven," who is suspected of helping people flee the country. The motley crew of forced guests includes a pair of young elopers fleeing a wealthy, tyrannical father; a gangster on the run; an escaped convict with a history with Bradford; and a nervous bank clerk who has embezzled $50,000. With a murderer and a massive storm raging, the night turns into a deadly "dark house" mystery as one of the guests winds up dead.
