The Courageous Avenger (1935)
Plot: Lawman Kirk Baxter is assigned to investigate a string of violent gold bullion robberies plaguing the Davis Mine. He soon discovers that the gang responsible, led by a man named Gorman, is hiding out in a secret desert location. Even more shocking, the gang is using captured travelers as slave labor to work in a hidden silver mine. As Kirk infiltrates the outlaw camp, he realizes that the mine superintendent, Mr. Carson, is actually the inside man tipping off the gang. When Kirk’s sweetheart, Betty (who is also Carson’s stepdaughter), is kidnapped by the gang, Kirk must lead a daring escape for the prisoners and stop one final gold heist before it’s too late.
