The Devil Diamond (1937)
Plot: A skilled, retired jeweler named Peter Lanning is hired to cut one of the world's most valuable and infamous gems—the cursed $250,000 "Devil Diamond"—into smaller, saleable stones. However, a rival jeweler hires a notorious gangster known as "Professor" Morlan (alias John Henry Morgan) and his thugs to steal the precious stones once they are cut. Amateur detectives, including Jerry Carter and Lee, get involved in the case to protect the jeweler's daughter, Dorothy Lanning, and foil the ruthless gang's plot to steal the legendary jewel. The film blends crime, action, and light comedy.
