The Hanged Man
Year: 1974
Plot: James Devlin, a convicted gunfighter, is sentenced to death. After enduring his hanging, he miraculously survives due to a faulty execution and a sympathetic doctor's intervention. Now considered legally "dead," Devlin has a blank slate and takes on the persona of a mysterious, seemingly supernatural avenger (often compared to Clint Eastwood's character in High Plains Drifter). He uses his second chance to fight for justice, arriving to help Carrie Gault, a young widow who is struggling to keep her silver mine and ranch from being taken by a ruthless and avaricious businessman, Lew Halleck, and his gang of thugs.
