Unsolved Mysteries: The Sleepwalker Killing 1997 is a movie about Sarah Davies, a brilliant but disgraced forensic psychologist who specializes in rare neurological conditions. In 1997, she's offered a controversial case that could redeem her career: the defense of Daniel Thorne, a respected university professor accused of the brutal murder of his colleague. Daniel claims he committed the act while in a deep, dissociative sleepwalking state, with no conscious memory of the crime. The police and prosecutor dismiss it as a fabricated defense, but Sarah delves into the complex world of parasomnias, meticulously recreating the night of the murder. As she uncovers disturbing patterns in Daniel's past and the victim's hidden life, Sarah begins to suspect there's more to "the sleepwalker killing" than a simple medical anomaly. She confronts the terrifying possibility that Daniel's subconscious was either manipulated by an outside force or harbored a dark, hidden truth that even he was unaware of, forcing her to distinguish between genuine unconscious action and a cunning, conscious act of murder.
