Whistlin' Dan (1932)
Plot: Cowboy Dan Savage, known as "Whistlin' Dan" (Ken Maynard), and his sidekick, July, seek vengeance after their partner, Bob, is kidnapped for ransom by the evil outlaw leader, Serge Karloff. When they attempt to pay the ransom, they arrive too late and find their friend murdered. Frustrated when the bank refuses to help them, they resort to robbing it themselves to have the money to return, but are arrested. While in jail, they encounter one of Karloff's men and, in a desperate move, agree to join the gang after being broken out of jail. Now undercover as outlaws, Dan and July, with the help of a dancer named Carmelita (who was Bob's girlfriend), work to infiltrate and destroy Karloff's gang from the inside to avenge their pal's death.
