When their father goes away on a business trip, three siblings – Jon, Denice, and Tom – are left under the strict, religious care of their Aunt Tess. During a struggle over a hunting knife that Aunt Tess tries to confiscate, she is accidentally stabbed and dies. Panicked, the children decide to dispose of her body using a woodchipper their father had conveniently rented. Their troubles escalate when their ex-convict cousin, Kim, shows up unexpectedly, looking for his mother (Aunt Tess) and money. To maintain their secret, the siblings are forced to take further drastic measures.
