Deacon (2018)
Plot: After years spent abroad, a Catholic deacon returns to his home city to find it overrun by corruption, sin, and supernatural evil. He is initially assigned to a local parish under the guidance of Father Gerald Roberts and begins working as a consultant for Lt. Linus Carter, a detective investigating crimes with spiritual elements. However, the weight of the dark confessions he hears and the suffering he witnesses in the streets eventually cause him to snap. He transforms into a brutal vigilante, hunting down those he deems beyond redemption while constantly questioning God and his own sanity. The story blurs the line between a holy mission and a descent into madness as the deacon struggles to save his own soul while purging the city.
