The Night Before (2017)
Plot: On the night before Halloween, a single mother named Kristina and her daughter, Penny, are taken captive inside a strange home. Their town is already on edge due to a recent warning from the authorities about an escaped mental patient, Jasper, being on the loose, which caused the community to hold their trick-or-treating a day early. As Kristina and Penny find themselves held hostage by a masked stranger (implied to be the escaped patient, Jasper), they must fight for their lives and attempt to escape the home invasion ordeal. The film operates as a slow-burn horror/suspense thriller.
