Wrong Turn (2021)
Plot: A group of six young adults—including Jennifer "Jen" Shaw and her boyfriend Darius—arrive in a small town in rural Virginia to hike a remote section of the Appalachian Trail. Despite warnings from hostile locals, the group ignores the advice and ventures off the main trail to find an old fort. They soon stumble into the territory of "The Foundation," a hidden, self-sufficient community of mountain settlers who have lived in isolation since 1859. The settlers violently defend their way of life and begin systematically hunting the hikers with gruesome traps. When Jen's father, Scott, arrives weeks later searching for his missing daughter, the story pivots between the hikers' fight for survival against the primitive society and Scott's desperate search, which ultimately leads him down the same terrifying path.
